I'm currently studying Computer Engineering Technology at the Polytechnic University of the Philippines, where I split my time between coursework and building full projects on my own — because the fastest way I've found to actually learn a stack is to ship something with it.
That's meant building an e-commerce site (YKB Clothing) with a real Node/Express backend and MySQL database and contributing to a team portfolio site with other developers — two different problems, tackled two different ways.
I'm still learning, and I say that plainly rather than padding a portfolio with buzzwords. What I can promise is that I'll be upfront about what I know, what I don't yet, and how long something will realistically take.
